How to choose your wedding gown

Start with the shape you like, then compare fabric, coverage and how the dress moves.

Explore the gowns above ↑
Clean lines and satin Look at the cut and drape, then check the lining.

For a simpler look, pay attention to the cut, seams and drape. Satin describes a weave, not a fibre: the name alone does not mean silk. Its smooth surface can have a soft sheen or a stronger shine. Look at the bodice, lining and skirt together to judge how the complete gown feels.

Lace, tulle and organza Compare texture in close-ups and volume in full-length photographs.

Lace adds pattern, while tulle and organza can create volume in different ways. Check close-up photographs to see where appliqué and beading sit, then view the full skirt and back. At a fitting, compare the weight of the complete gown: several light-looking layers can still feel substantial.

Necklines, sleeves and coverage Check the lining: lace and high necklines can still be sheer.

A sweetheart neckline, halter neck or long sleeve changes the look of the same silhouette. For more coverage, check the lining as well as the sleeve length. A high neckline or lace sleeve may include sheer panels, and an illusion bodice may be lined or unlined. Use the filters to narrow your options, then check the front and back of the gown.

Outdoor plans and indoor celebrations Choose with your venue, skirt layers and time outdoors in mind.

Tell us how much of your wedding is outdoors and how much is in an air-conditioned venue. Lining, skirt layers, sleeve coverage and train length all affect comfort. Try walking and sitting in the gown, and consider how you will manage the skirt between your ceremony, photographs and banquet.

A couple of questions

What is the difference between a collection and a silhouette?

A collection groups gowns by their design story. A silhouette describes the shape of the dress, such as A-Line or Mermaid. Choose a silhouette first if you know the skirt shape you like, then select a collection, fabric or neckline within it.

Can a fuller skirt still look simple?

Yes. An A-Line or ball gown can look restrained with plain fabric and little embellishment. Compare the silhouette separately from embellishment, and check the full-length photographs to judge the overall effect.

Arrange a visit →
Try your shortlist

Share your date, venue and the styles you like. Try walking, sitting and turning in each dress, and tell us where you would like more support or coverage.

Confirm the reservation

Check the gown’s availability and your rental quote. Agree the outfits, inclusions, payment terms and dates before reserving; an online listing is not a booking.

Discuss the fit

Ask which adjustments are possible and included for your chosen gown. Confirm the fitting schedule with our team and bring the undergarments and shoes you intend to wear.

Collect and return

Agree collection and return dates in advance. At collection, check the gown and accessories together, and ask how to handle the train, transport and care during your rental.

Before your visit

Planning your visit, your questions answered.

How do I find gowns from a particular collection?

Select a collection to see its introduction and matching dresses. Open “Read the collection story” for more about the designs. Use Filters to add a neckline, sleeve style, fabric or colour.

Can I rent a gown I see here?

Share the gown name or reference and your wedding date. Our team will check availability and explain the rental options for your favourites.

What should I bring to my fitting?

Bring your wedding date, a few favourite gown references and the shoes you plan to wear if you have them. Tell us about any fit, coverage or movement preferences when you book.

What should I check in my rental quote?

Check which gowns, fittings, alterations and accessories are included, along with any charges for additional outfits. Confirm the deposit and return arrangements too. See rental details and packages before requesting a quote for your shortlist.

When should I arrange a fitting and reserve my gown?

Enquire once you know your wedding date and venue. Availability depends on the individual gown and your dates. At your visit, agree the reservation, fitting and collection schedule with our team; browsing a gown online does not reserve it.

Can I choose a gown for my solemnisation or tea ceremony here?

You can explore bridal gowns here for your ceremony. For a separate solemnisation selection, browse our ROM dresses . For your banquet or tea ceremony, see our evening gowns and qun kua collection . Confirm which outfits are included in your chosen rental package.
