Audrey is asymmetric and quiet about it. A straight neckline crosses the bust in soft diagonal ruching and rises on one side into a large structured bow at the shoulder. The other shoulder is bare. The satin is plain and heavy. The column holds close through the hip and releases below the knee into a sweep train. The back is the second half of the gown. It is cut open to the natural waist, with a slim ribbon laced in a long ladder down the centre, and the bow's band carries over the shoulder and runs diagonally across the shoulder blade. A solemnisation gown as much as a banquet one: the train is short enough to manage alone, and the back is worth turning around in.
