Cordelia is made for the long walk. The fabric is structured satin that holds its line from the first step, cut as a full A-line with a sweetheart neckline on slim beaded straps. The bodice carries silver-threaded embroidery to a defined band at the waist, and then the gown shows restraint: the skirt falls smooth and clean before the ornament returns at the hem, in deep garlands of beaded flowers and vine that circle the whole gown. At the back, the bodice closes down the spine into a deep pleated panel, and the panel opens into the train, wide, rounded, and embroidered edge to edge, so the work faces the congregation for the whole length of the aisle. This is a gown that understands scale. In a high-ceilinged hall or a church with a long approach, it measures the room and fills it.
