Ivy climbs. The bodice is worked in lace to a V neckline, held by fine straps, and from the waist the appliqués begin to travel, scattered lightly at first across the tulle skirt, then gathering and thickening as they descend. At the hem they meet a deep scalloped border of lace that runs the full width of the skirt and out around the train, dense and unbroken, the way growth thickens closest to the ground. The tulle between is left clear, so the pattern reads as growth rather than decoration. The back is open and low, crossed only by the straps. The shape is a soft A-line with an unstructured waist, easy to move in and easy to sit in. It suits a Gardens by the Bay shoot or a long banquet where comfort matters as much as the picture.
