Delphine grows a garden on ivory satin. Blue, blush and gold flowers are embroidered onto a sheer tulle panel that rises to a small Mandarin collar at the throat, so the blooms appear to sit on skin. Beneath them the satin is smooth and undecorated, a column through the body that narrows to the knee and flares below it. Vines break away from the bodice and trail down one side of the skirt. The back is the same sheer tulle, closed by a long row of covered buttons, with flowers scattered across the shoulders. The train opens wide and carries the heaviest planting of all, sprays of blossom that trail well behind her. Colour this faint is lost across a banquet hall and unmistakable up close, which makes it a pre-wedding shoot gown first and a solemnisation gown second.
