Arabella is grown rather than built. Flowers climb from the waist and gather thickest at the sweetheart neckline, where the lace slips just off the shoulder and rests in small sprays on each arm. The bodice is fitted and worked all over, petals, leaves and vines with small bright centres, and the planting does not stop at the hip. Appliqué trails down over the top of the skirt in long tendrils, thinning as it goes, until soft tulle takes over and moves on its own. Behind, the bodice closes with a laced corset back, ribbon crossing bare skin, and the vines continue down the spine. The train spreads long and light, tulle over a bed of patterned lace, with blossoms scattered where they seem to have fallen. It suits a garden ceremony and golden light, and any bride who wants a gown that looks like it is still in bloom.
