Mira is worked in silver-white beading over sheer tulle, a feathered pattern that runs unbroken from the halter neck through the hip and out across the train. The neck fastens high and the back opens across the shoulder blades, closing again in the same beaded fabric with a zip down the spine. The gown is sleeveless, with fixed beaded chains that loop from the halter and drape over each upper arm. They move when you do, which is most of the point. The skirt holds close past the knee before it breaks. The train is sheer, edged in the same feathered pattern, and reads as light rather than weight. Under a chandelier the beading is the gown. It is cut to be worn for a whole evening, the march-in, the toasts, the floor, so we fit it for sitting and standing, not just for the photograph.
